What is the Green Homes Grant?

Under the Green Homes Grant Scheme, homeowners and landlords in England are from the 1st October 2020 able to apply for vouchers to cover the cost of certain home improvements. This is a cash gift, it is not a loan. The voucher will pay for home improvements that will make your home more energy efficient and more comfortable to live in. The application is easy and we can do it for you as part of the service.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text el_class=”services_page_intro about_sub_page”]

There are two voucher types:-

• Vouchers for a household where one member is receiving government benefits. This voucher is for a maximum of £10,000 and covers the full cost of the improvements.
• Vouchers for a household where no member is receiving benefits. This voucher is for a maximum of £5,000 and can be redeemed against two thirds (66%) of the total cost of the improvements.

If you are a tenant you can still apply for a voucher but will need your landlords consent.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text el_class=”services_page_intro about_sub_page”]

Eligibility

You may be eligible if you live in England and:

• You own your own home (including long-leaseholders and shared ownership)
• You own your own park home on a residential site (including Gypsy and Traveller sites)
• You’re a residential landlord in the private or social rented sector (including local authorities and housing associations)
• You cannot get the Green Homes Grant for newly built homes which have not been previously occupied.

Low carbon heat

The following low carbon heating measures are covered by the voucher:

• Air source heat pump
• Ground source heat pump
• Solar thermal (liquid filled flat plate or evacuated tube collector)

• Hybrid heat pump
• Lapolla Spray Foam Insulation
